Inspired by one of the greatest archaeological discoveries Britain has ever witnessed that was made at Sutton Hoo Anglo-Saxon Royal Burial Ground in Suffolk. Amateur archaeologist Basil Brown uncovered an incredible ship burial in 1939 complete a wealth of treasures, including the now iconic helmet, painstakingly pieced together from tiny fragments.

Sutton Hoo is the site of two Anglo-Saxon cemeteries, dating from the 6th and 7th centuries from which the most extraordinary archaeological finds have been unearthed that changed our understanding of early Medieval England.

Mood: Along the banks of the Deben sits a landscape sculpted in memory. Ships buried in the earth, filled with exquisite gold and garnet from beyond this shore. Hands built and hauled ships from the waters, filled them with goods that showed care, homage and prestige to their dead.

Smells like: Ginger, spices, citrus, cinnamon leaf, jasmine, white musk and woods.

Handmade, eco-friendly, vegan, animal cruelty free.

Each candle has been individually inspired by the prehistory, archaeology, and rugged, aromatic landscape. These hand-crafted candles by AshWood Candles invoke ancient scents, transporting them right into the comfort of your home.
